Paula Poundstone’s HBO Special “Cats Cops and Stuff” isn’t available on DVD. I wish HBO would change that.

I’m half way happy for you to always live in hope, and half in despair for your naive dreams. A conundrum, sir. Well done

I work at 7-11 and I would love for something like that to happen! I think about that every day I go into work.

The audience in the back probably can’t hear what is said, so yeah, she does repeat.

intelligence is spelled with an “i”, and as far as i m aware, there is no “sense” of intelligence in the whole english language. but no worries, i kind of expected i could speak your language better than you do…

You owe me a sense of intellegence that is obviously lacking.. but hey, no worries. My expections are not that high, dude.

It is called playing off an audience, and she repeats what audience members say, as the rest of the audience cannot hear them.. moron…

I loved this special back in the day! Thanx for posting it!!! Wish I knew were I could find more…
My favorite line is when she is talking about Pop Tarts, and she says, “its called a Pop Tart, not a Stick Your Hand In And Get It Tart!”

I’ve been DYING to find clips from this special! THANK YOU Dan OLGB for posting this. Anyone know where I can find more. My favorite part was the end when she talks about her cats.

Love her!

First of all, she didn’t repeat the whole phrase “tore her face open on a lube rack” about 3 doz times, lol. She did, however, use the “lube rack” phrase several times in the manner most brilliant comics do, that is… to weave it in and out of other things in a way that binds other bits together with a running gag. Of course, it takes a sense of humor to understand that, so there’s your where your error occurred :P

This is my favorite comedy bit.

They used to show it on Comedy Central a lot… not to mention that documentry about Andy Kauffman.
